Summer Bonspiel

The Green Bay Curling Club will hosting the Tailgate Summer Bonspiel, June 20 through June 22.  This is a 24 team open bonspiel.  See the link below for details and an entry form.

Spring League Forming

The Green Bay Curling Club will be having a Spring League on Wednesday evenings starting April 23 and running through May 28.  If you are interested in playing in the league select the link below for more information.

US Men Win Bronze Medal at the Senior World Championships

The US Men won a bronze medal at the World Senior Championships in Vierumaki, Finland beating Scotland 6-4 in the bronze medal game. The US team won their pool in the round robin with a 7-1 record.  In the semi-finals they lost 6-5  in a extra end to Sweden.  Curling for the US team were Bill Rhyme from Green Bay, Dave Russell from Lacrosse, Mike Fraboni, Mark Swandby, and Dave Carlson from Madison.

 

Green Bay Team wins Silver Medal at the US Women's Club Nationals

Congratulations to the the Joy Pahl rink from Green Bay for winning the the silver medal at the US Women's Club National Championships in Mankato, Minnestoa. Curling with Joy were Erin Wallace, Chloe Pahl, and Kimberly Rhyme.  The team finished first in the round robin portion of the competition with a 7-2 record.  They then defeated Maryland 11-3 in the semi-finals before losing to Norma Oleary's team from Duluth, MN 8-6 in the finals.

 

Green Bay Junior Boys win Two Bonspiels

Congratulations to the Bryon Gamble team from Green Bay for winning junior bonspiels in Kettle Moraine and Green Bay.  The team went 10 - 0 to win both bonspiels.  Playing on the team were Bryon Gamble, Devon Maier, Ryan Maier, Dylan Schwartz, and Casey Schwartz.


Green Bay Selected as Site for USCA High Performance Camp for Olympic Hopefuls

The club was recently selected by the United States Curling Association to host an elite curler camp in May. The camp will attract aspiring Olympic curlers for a weekend of curling practice, training, and classroom work. The club is currently negotiating with the USCA to host additional events. With the installation of a dehumidification system in the next few weeks, the club hopes to offer year round ice to curlers from all over the country. No other US curling facility offers year round ice.

 

Club Raffle  - Tickets Still Available

The drawing for the club raffel is Saturday March 29th during the Mixed Bonspiel!

The club will be having a raffle again this year.  Proceeds go to support the Green Bay Curling Club.  Prizes include a plasma TV, a mini-scooter and an iPod.  Tickets can be purchased from any club member.
